DonorsChoose.org is a crowdfunding website where public school teachers can post projects to be funded by individuals and organizations around the world. Oxford has its first 2013-14 project posted, ready for funding: “Safety First!”
This project will provide safety backpacks for every classroom on campus, allowing the teachers and community to be better prepared for emergencies, particularly earthquakes.
“Safety First!”, organized through Ms. Vines’s classroom, will be fund-able for four months, but for just THREE DAYS, “Women in Hedge Funds” is offering matching funds for any donation to any project, nationwide—use the use PromoCode “100WOMEN” to get funds matched. No time like the present! Please share the link with neighbors, grandparents, friends, colleagues (particularly corporations that like to do matching funds or support public schools):
DonorsChoose.org funders get email responses from teachers, picture updates with how the grant played out in the classroom and handwritten notes from students for donations over $50.
The Oxford Grant Committee will be supporting teachers in posting DonorsChoose.org grants for their classroom, and this will be an easy way for you, your community or workplace to make a donation to the school.
