What is the Oxford Elementary PTA Annual Fund?
Welcome to the Campaign for Oxford - our annual drive for the Oxford Fund. The Oxford Fund is the PTA’s general fund that supports many enrichment and extracurricular programs at Oxford. Each fall, we ask families for direct contributions to the Oxford Fund to help meet our annual fundraising goal. This is our biggest fundraisers of the year and helps pay for vital programs not covered by Berkeley Public School funds. It’s one of the easiest and most effective ways we can raise money for our amazing school.
WHY SHOULD I GIVE?
We cannot rely on district funding alone to cover the cost of the education your child receives at Oxford Elementary. Each year’s fundraising supports PTA’s funding, programming, and activities for the next school year. Thanks to the generosity of our community, we met our fundraising goal last year, and we are counting on your help to get us there again. The Oxford Fund pays for Art and PE teachers for all grades, full-time classroom aids for kindergarten classrooms, classroom supplies, field trip support, and more. We need your help to reach the same goal for next year so that we can continue these programs for every kid at Oxford!
HOW MUCH SHOULD I GIVE?
Only you know what would be comfortable for your family. This year we need to raise $110,000, or $440 a student (THAT'S ONLY $36 A MONTH!) by the end of this year to ensure we can cover the same programs and support next year. We will have other fundraisers as well throughout the year to make sure we reach this goal including our beloved Read-A-Thon later this Fall and an auction and raffle in the Spring (if needed).
One useful guideline is ONE MONTH of what you budgeted for preschool, child care or summer camp. For Kindergarten families, we call this the “One More Month" campaign as we ask the kinder families for a donation that is equal to the monthly tuition you paid to your pre-school or private school. For Grade 1-4 families, we would appreciate your continuing support of our community. For 5th Grade families, we call this the “Oxford Legacy Campaign” as we ask you for a legacy donation to be used for Oxford’s programs next year as your child is promoted to middle school.
