You have either received a package of forms today or will get them tomorrow—one of those forms is the lunch application. We ask that everyone complete it; the more forms we have turned in, the more likely we will qualify for certain funding. If you would rather complete the form online, that is also an option at EZmealApp.com. If you complete it on-line, just print out the verification and send it in to school. That will help with tracking if there are any issues.
Things went pretty smoothly for our first day of the school year. We are off to a good start! —Beth Rhine
The school year is about to start. Are you ready? Almost ready? Thinking about getting ready? One week to go and it’s about that time to at least start thinking about getting ready.
When does school start?
The first day will be Wednesday, September 2. School starts at 8am. Please note, yard supervision begins at 7:50 am.
What time does school end?
Kindergarten ends at 1:20 every day. 1st – 3rd grades end at 2:05 M/T/Th/F and at 1:15 on Wednesdays. 4th – 5th grades end at 2:10 on M/T/Th/F and also 1:15 on Wednesdays. Supervision on the playground ends at 2:20. If students are not picked up by then, they will be waiting in the office for pick-up.
See the Daily Routine page for more details.
When do we find out our teacher for the year?
What does my child need to bring to school on the first day of school?
No need to run over to school to view the class lists! Class assignments will also be posted online here at OxfordElementary.org on Tuesday 9/1/2014 at about 4 pm.
The class lists page is password-protected, with only the administration able to access it until Tuesday evening. After 4 pm, the password will be reset to the one being emailed out to families via the Oxford mailing list (“etree”).

Open House tonight! (psst: there will be ice cream)
Open House is tonight, Thursday, May 21, 6:00-7:15pm. Please join us that evening to celebrate our children’s accomplishments. We invite families to visit classrooms and admire all the work our children have done this year. In addition, Ms. Muller’s 4th graders are holding their annual Ice Cream Social in the cafeteria. After you look at your child’s classroom work, stop by the cafeteria and celebrate with an ice cream sundae or a baked treat. Prices are low, and all profits buy new books for the Oxford library!
